About the Van Scivers
Rod and Nancy Van Sciver are the visionary co-founders of Education For All Children (EFAC), a New Hampshire and Kenya-based 501(c)(3) non-profit that transforms lives through education. Their vision and desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others have blossomed into a powerful education-to-employment program that supports some of Kenya’s brightest youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. A providential meeting with Professor Leah Marangu - Kenya’s first female university chancellor – became a turning point in how they would establish their journey. With Leah’s guidance, they established a foundation to guide them through Kenya’s education system and local partnerships.
EFAC provides scholarships and holistic support to students from high school through college and preparation for employment. Students are selected based on financial need, academic performance, and leadership potential. From funding 44 scholarships in its first year, EFAC has supported more than 1,200 beneficiaries, currently with 875 active scholars in various high schools and institutions of higher learning across Kenya. In addition to this, over 270 alumni are leaders in their communities and paying it forward by supporting others, including their families Rod and Nancy’s deep commitment and belief in the power of education have created a ripple effect across Kenya. Their story reminds us that education is the catalyst for a brighter future for all of us globally.
