Roots of Renewal: Sustainable Agriculture

Roots of Renewal Documentary

Post Documentary Discussion

How can small farmers across the world bring about change to their own communities, environment, and the climate? Sustainable Harvest International believes they have the answer in the form of regenerative farming practices. Through natural processes, sustainable practices, and locally sourced inputs, their approach to farming has the opportunity to make the world a better place. Watch the "Roots of Renewal" documentary, followed by the World Affairs Council of New Hampshire's post film discussion, to learn more about this powerful approach to rebuilding lives, communities, and the environment.

About the Speaker

Florence (Flo) Reed is the founder of Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) and a leading advocate for regenerative agriculture and bottom-up economic development. With a background in nonprofit work and service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Panama, she established SHI in 1997 to help farmers adopt sustainable practices that improve livelihoods while restoring the environment.

As SHI’s chief visionary, Florence spearheads the Million Farm Transformation, a global initiative to scale up regenerative farming solutions. Her passion for sustainable development continues to inspire farmers, organizations, and communities worldwide. When she’s not traveling to advance SHI’s mission, Florence resides with her family in an eco-friendly home on 30 acres of gardens and forest in Surry, Maine.
