World Affairs Council of San Antonio Presents Oman 2018 Program

World Affairs Council of San Antonio will present an Oman 2018 program, "Love and Politics in the Arabic Poetic Tradition," featuring Dr. Suzanne Stetkevych on Thursday, June 21.

Dr. Stetkevych is Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies in the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Georgetown University. This WACA Engage America program is presented in partnership with Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center.

Columbia WAC Hosts Ambassador of Uzbekistan

Columbia World Affairs Council will host Javlon Vakhabov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the U.S., for a program geared towards companies interested in discussing trade and investment prospects in Uzbekistan on Wednesday, June 20.

Located in Central Asia, Uzbekistan is home to almost 30 million people, has a rich natural resources base, and enjoys annual GDP growth of 8%. The event will provide information to U.S. companies in the Columbia area information on how to make the first steps towards doing business in Uzbekistan.

The Tomorrow’s Peacebuilders award recognizes groups involved in nonviolent campaigns or movements for a just and inclusive peace.
