Sylvia Longmire will examine all the aspects of the challenge and thriving industry of trying to keep terrorists, drug smugglers, and illegal immigrants from entering the United States across our land borders as well as the latest on the Central American child migrant crisis.
Sylvia Longmire is a retired Air Force Captain and a former Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. During her 8 years at the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, she conducted numerous criminal investigations and worked extensively in the fields of counterintelligence, counterespionage, and force protection. Longmire has been published in the Small Wars Journal, Henley-Putnam University's Journal of Strategic Security, the Journal of Energy Security, and the American Bar Association's National Security Report. She is also regularly featured in Homeland Security Today Magazine. Sylvia Longmire is currently an independent consultant and freelance writer, and is an ASBPE award winning columnist for Homeland Security Today.
She has written Cartel: The Coming Invasion of Mexico's Drug Wars (Palgrave Macmillan, 2011) and has been nominated for a Los Angeles Times Book Prize. She has also written Border Insecurity: The Truth About America's Biggest National Security Threat (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014)
